With Droid’s release the hottest news these days, Google seems to have left no stone unturned to promote the device. In addition to having Bert and Ernie on their home page, there was something else on their page too. As per Engadget, Google featured an ad for Motorola’s Droid that launched on November 6.
It was quite surprising to see the ad on the home page since an advertisement is the last thing one would see there. Reportedly Engadget had verified with their non-US editors and it appears that only Yanks could see the ad.
Last year, Google had done a similar thing for the first Android phone, T-Mobile’s G1. More information and purchase links about the device can be found by clinking on the link. Apparently it does make sense to endorse Droid as Android mobile operating system may get a major boost due to this device.
But what remains to be seen is how well Droid performs in the market with or without the ad.
