Cabinet PM Chairs Meet in Kashmir in the Midst of Tension

The cabinet usually meets every Wednesday and the government has not yet revealed the reasons for convening a conference on Monday.

Jammu and Kashmir News

On Monday, the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in New Delhi, speculating that the govt could take some choices on Jammu and Kashmir.

Union home minister Amit Shah and law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad were the first to reach the residence of the prime minister, where the conference is taking place, officials said.

It is also anticipated that a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, the largest decisionmaking body in the country, and another meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs will be held independently, they said.

The cabinet usually meets every Wednesday and the government has not yet revealed the reasons for convening a conference on Monday. After the deployment of extra safety forces in the state last week, Jammu and Kashmir were on the brink.

Speculation has been rife that the Center intends to do away with Article 35A, which provides exclusive rights to state citizens in public employment and property.

The administration of Jammu and Kashmir, under President's rule, instructed the annual Amarnath Yatra to be curtailed and requested pilgrims and visitors to leave the Kashmir Valley, citing terror threat.

Students from the outstation, studying at the NIT in Srinagar, were also asked to leave the campus and go home and not return until further order.

Former prime ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti would not be permitted to move out of their respective houses in perspective of the constraints, while Congress leader Usman Majid and Indian-Marxist MLA M Y Tarigami claimed to have been detained around midnight.

Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta Movie Review: Tiring and Unsatisfying

Movie Rating: 3/5 First of all things! The director's weakest film is the long delayed Enai Noki Paayum Thotta by Gautham Menon . The film's main weakness is the director's fascination with narrative style voice-over. It was good before Gautham used voice-over as a medium to tell his stories, but every scene in Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta begins and ends with Dhanush's voice-over, which irritates us after a point. The film is filled with tired stereotypes, and at a runtime of 157 minutes it is an unsatisfying watch. Like any other movie from Gautham Menon, here too hero Raghu (Dhanush) is a student of engineering, but this time his wife is not a student, but a film heroine Lekha ( Mega Akash ).She tells him she is not interested in movies and her boss Kuberan (Senthil Veeraswamy) coerced her into the profession for money (it looks like the girl is an orphan and Kuberan supported her studies and is her guardian). Raghu takes her to his Pollachi house and introduc
