Rafa Benitez fears he may lose his Liverpool job

October 23, 2009 10:38 IST

Aware that results dictate who stays or who exits in managerial positions in football, Rafa Benitez [ Images ] has admitted for the first time that he fears he could be out of his Liverpool job sooner than later.

Though he has got the vote of confidence from co-owner George Gillett, as it emerged it would cost 13 million pounds to axe him, the Kop boss knows he is on the brink after Tuesday's defeat at home to Lyon.

Rafga Benitez"We know results dictate in football. We just have to try to isolate ourselves from talk of a possible purchase of the club and concentrate on the day-by-day work in football terms. A sale and a change of owner is always hugely important for any club. You have to work out how discussions are going. My relations with George Gillett are very correct," The Sun quoted Rafa, as saying.

"I love being at Liverpool, my family is very integrated in the life here and it''s not on our minds that this will end soon," he added.

Reds co-owner Gillett said: "We have just entered into a long-term agreement with Rafa. Our family is extraordinarily pleased with him. We think he is absolutely as good as there is in the business."

Van Persie warns Arsenal [ Images ] teammates

Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie [ Images ] has warned his Arsenal teammates to avoid the mistakes that they had made last season to have a chance of winning major tournaments.

Van Persie also admitted that it was vital for Arsenal to beat lower-placed sides if they are to stay within sight of leaders Manchester United [ Images ].

"Last season, we lost some games we should have won and we later had five back-to-back draws. We have to avoid that. Time will show how well we will do," The Sun quoted Van Persie, as saying.

"We're very encouraged by some of the other league results because when you look at last weekend, Liverpool and Chelsea lost. We've played eight games now and won six. It's looking good for us as long as we stay consistent against the smaller teams. We need to keep getting three points against them," he added.

Arsenal will next play against West Ham United on Sunday.

Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta Movie Review: Tiring and Unsatisfying

Movie Rating: 3/5 First of all things! The director's weakest film is the long delayed Enai Noki Paayum Thotta by Gautham Menon . The film's main weakness is the director's fascination with narrative style voice-over. It was good before Gautham used voice-over as a medium to tell his stories, but every scene in Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta begins and ends with Dhanush's voice-over, which irritates us after a point. The film is filled with tired stereotypes, and at a runtime of 157 minutes it is an unsatisfying watch. Like any other movie from Gautham Menon, here too hero Raghu (Dhanush) is a student of engineering, but this time his wife is not a student, but a film heroine Lekha ( Mega Akash ).She tells him she is not interested in movies and her boss Kuberan (Senthil Veeraswamy) coerced her into the profession for money (it looks like the girl is an orphan and Kuberan supported her studies and is her guardian). Raghu takes her to his Pollachi house and introduc
