NEW DELHI: Honda Siel Car India (HSCI) on Wednesday launched its new super hatchback Jazz in three variants, priced between Rs 6.98 lakh & Rs
7.33 laky (ex-showroom New Delhi). Sporting a 1.2-litre euro-IV compatible petrol engine Jazz will come loaded among twin-airbags and anti-lock brake system that will be standard across all variants. Honda aims to sell about 2,000 Jazz per month, initially.
The City sedan will continue to be Honda’s flagship model in India.
The company sells about 3,500 units of the City every month. It is also planning to bring a second small car to India to will be positioned lower than the Jazz and will be launched in the next 2-3 years.
HSCI president and CEO M Takedagawa said Jazz will cater to the top-end of the hatchback segment, which forms 80% of the 1.5-million car market into India. The company, he said, is not planning to hike prices in the near future, but will increase localisation to offset the impact of currency fluctuations.
