After an injury exposé, Team India has got a wake up call from captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Ms.Dhoni issued a no-nonsense warning to his teammates asking them not to repeat the mistake of hiding their injuries. Headlines Today had recently exposed how five crucial members of the Indian T20 squad hid their injuries.
According to reports, Ms.Dhoni gave a dressing down to his teammates on Sunday. He then asked them to be truthful about injuries or any other personal issues that could affect the team's performance.
This comes in wake of what happened when Virender Sehwag hid his injury from his skipper during the world T20.
Ms.Dhoni said the team is more important than the individuals and also issued a warning to the seniors asking them to come up with ideas to improve the team's performance.
This is exactly what Ms.Dhoni told his team: "For me, it's the team first and then the individuals and I hope it's the same for everyone in the group."
"If rest is the cure for an injury, a cricketer ought to opt for it rather than let fatigue or niggles become a major setback to him also to the team," he added.
